The A-bomb dome.  This building was made of reinforced concrete and withstood the blast of the bomb, which detonated 500 meters directly above it.

A monument to the children who lost their lives that day.



And the memorial park.   It is sobering and really challenging to go to this museum and see the stories of hundreds of people who died, were injured or who escaped from the devastation of the atom bomb blast.  There is little that we can to do communicate the depth of feeling and loss that we felt.  Please do not stop here without visiting the pages below.
